A new site from the archives of the British Pathe newsreels may prove of interest to the Irish Golf Collector. It provides old footage of some significant golf events that took place in Ireland.
The 1931 Ladies Golf Championship from Portmarnock. The only time the event took place in the Republic of Ireland.Walter Hagen's exhibition match on the Clontarf Links 1928;Jonny Farrell and Ed Dudleys exhibition match at the Hermitage GC;1923 Irish Ladies Golf Final from Portmarnock;1925 Irish Professional Golf Championship. Mr O'Neill wins for third time;Bob Hope charity match 1961 Royal Dublin (aka Dollymount);Harry Bradshaw homecoming after the 1949 Open Championship defeat;1921 Iirsh Amateur Golf Championship at Portmarnock;1921 Irish Ladies Championship at the Hermitage Golf Club;The Opening of the Killua Golf Club in Kells. The club disappeared during the war years 1926.
