Peter Gannon took up golf in his early thirties and proceeded
to achieve some success on the continent but it as a course
architect that he is best known. He was an exceptionally
gifted left-hander player and in 1910 resided in Florence.
Although Argentinian by birth he spent much of his early
years in Clara, County Offaly (or King's County as it
was then known). He left the priesthood in his late thirties
when he got married and settled down in St. Moritz in
Switzerland.
