Patrick McKenna (Rathfarnham)
Born c.
1885 married Christina 1909, a member of the McKenna golfing family.
Resident professional at Rathfarnham golf club 1908-1948 and according
to Dick Shiels centenary book on the club he was paid the princely
sum of 18 schillings per week. His duties were as greenkeeper and
club manager.
Affectionately
know as "PM" also kept fees earned from instruction, repairing
clubs and any profits from the sale of golf balls. Only started
to play competitively in the 1920s but doesn't appear to have made
a significant impact in any of the events entered. Known to have
taken great pride in his work at Rathfarnham.
