Programmes
|
| While
the tune of auld lang syne was still the ringing fresh in your ears
two 1951 Open Championship programmes from the final day had appeared
at auction. The first was a multiple signed version with slight imperfections
and realised for EUR1,850 at Bonhams while the second with a single
Harry Bradshaw signature saw the hammer (cursor in this case) drop
at Ebay for a staggering EUR2,400. All this suggests that the 1951
programme is now the most highly prized post WW II programme. |

Golf Curios
|
| A
pair of Golfing Union of Ireland Ulster Cup winners medals sold for
EUR100 both in sterling silver with the red enamelled hand of Ulster
(c.1936-1938). An 1933 Scotland v Ireland International golf badge
sold for EUR15. |

Tickets
|
| It
is Ryder Cup year and the tickets are already up for sale on Ebay
with the average price for a single day for 2 people achieving EUR800-EUR1200
representing 4-6 times their face value. Obviously the stated non-transferrability
("All tickets are personal to the individual on the original
application. It is not permitted to sell or transfer tickets to another
individual.") of these tickets isn't deterring anybody and you
can expect it to rise as the event draws near. |
